– How are you?
As you may or may not be aware, I turned 27 today (13th December) and I feel like I have already lived quite a thrilling life filled with experience – so, for today, I thought that I would share some of my wisdom with you all to hopefully aid you in your day to day!
No° 1. You will never ever feel your age
You won’t wake up one warm and sunny morning, stretch out all of your limbs, pull the sheets away and feel like a twenty something year old – you just won’t – and it won’t be any different at 30,40 or 50 either.
‘Age’ in general isn’t something that we naturally feel; In fact all time is (calculatively speaking) just a man-made way to keep track of the days, nights, hours, weeks, months and years.
I always find myself asking the question “Would a 20-Something year old do or say this?”. To give you an example, I cannot count the times that I have picked up my cat and made him dance to a song or pushed him into my partners face and voiced him saying “You talkin’ shit?”.
HOW ARE YOU?
I wanted to write something helpful for you all today. Here is a little post about the unwritten rules of Instagram. Please use this post a tiny guide to the general ins and outs.
I know, my following is small but it’s also so loyal and wonderful! The people that comment leave genuine messages, the people that like my pictures like almost every picture I post and I have made many friends with a lot of you already! (please feel free to send me a message if you want to get chatting)
No° One | LIKE BACK & LIKE UNCONDITIONALLY!
This should be in the terms and conditions. In fact, I shouldn’t even need to mention it, but I feel it’s a must if we’re going to do this. When a person likes one of your pictures, like one of theirs! Hell, like as many as you want! Follow them, send them a comment, watch their story! Someone took the time out of their busy life to press HEART on something you created. Be polite, courteous and at least return the favour.
Like photo’s that please you visually, someone is posting them for that exact reason so don’t be a sourpuss. It also makes you look really active, which is key to gaining a wonderful following.
So, I had a conversation with a company this week to discuss some part time work – and one of the questions they asked was: “Do you have any tattoo’s?”
Now, this struck a nerve with me. I mean, I know that there is a stigma around tattoos and a lot of companies won’t hire people with them as it is seen as being against the traditional professional image, but come on… It’s 2016!
Why are people still being discriminated for having a bloody tattoo?
A tattoo is a personal statement, a reminder of who we are, who we were, who someone was to us, a keepsake or a piece of art we treasure.
